چکیده
The University of California has completed an external scientific peer review of a prerelease draft of OEHHA’s chromium 6 PHG assessment. The peer reviewers were Dr. Leonard Bjeldanes, Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology, UC Berkeley; Dr. Roberto Gwiazda, Environmental Toxicology, UC Santa Cruz; and Dr. Michael Kelner, Department of Pathology, UC San Diego. OEHHA is revising its draft assessment based on the peer review comments. Upon completion of these revisions, OEHHA will release the draft for public review and comment, and will schedule a public workshop. OEHHA expects to release the draft document in fall 2005.

متن کاملDetermination of Hexavalent Chromium in Drinking Water Using Ion Chromatography
INTRODUCTION Hexavalent chromium, Cr(VI), is the most toxic form of the metal chromium, a primary drinking water contaminant in the U.S. Dissolved hexavalent chromium can be determined as chromate (CrO 4 ) by ion chromatography in drinking water, groundwater, and industrial wastewater effluents as described in U.S. EPA Method 218.6 and Dionex Technical Note 26. Dionex Technical Note 26 uses a 2...
متن کاملApplication of modified bentonite using sulfuric acid for the removal of hexavalent chromium from aqueous solutions
Background: Environmental contamination by chromium (Cr) has become an important issue due to its adverse effects on human health and environment. This study was done to evaluate the application of modified bentonite using sulfuric acid as an adsorbent in the removal of hexavalent Cr from aqueous solution. Methods: Adsorbent features were determined using x-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier transf...
متن کاملPublic health risk assessment of chromium intake from vegetable grown in the wastewater irrigated site in Bangladesh
There are many potential risks to human health from heavy metal contamination of vegetables resulting from wastewater irrigated sites. This study was carried out to assess the concentration of chromium (Cr) and the risk to human health by chromium through the intake of locally grown vegetables collected from wastewater irrigated agricultural fields. Twenty-seven samples of 9 (nine) different ty...
